mojo
mojo: #usb_heated_gloves I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. I got these gloves to keep my hands from getting too stiff while working on the computer in the cold.

The heat they produce is nice, not enough to burn you but enough to warm your hand up. The problem is that the heating element is in the top flap of the glove which can be folded down over the fingers. When it is up (so your fingers are exposed for typing) it does not make good contact with your hand to transfer heat. When down, you can't type or use the mouse.

The synthetic material the gloves are made from is like wool, and leaves a lot of fibres behind on your keyboard that need to be cleaned up. It would have been better to use Thinsulate or similar, or just silk with heating wires part way down the fingers.

All in all, they so have some effect but are badly designed. Feb 10, 08
