The LaCie Hub4 (131102KUA) is a four-port USB 3.0 hub that provides data transfer speeds up to 5Gb/s. It’s however USB 2.0 backwards compatible. If the Hub itself is hooked up to a PC’s USB 2.0 interface, then the device functions as a mere USB 2.0 hub with max speeds no higher than 480Mb/s.

Only via an integrated USB 3.0 port on a computer can the Hub4 provide full USB 3.0 speeds for all four outputs. Keep in mind that the unit’s signature selling point is its stylish design. Truthfully, the SIIG 4-port USB 3.0 hub can be obtained at a more budget-friendly price.
